Re: USHE Press Release: The Scorpion King (Blu-ray)

Hey, I think that might be Jeff Goldblum. Certainly tall enough.

Ron?

Re: USHE Press Release: The Scorpion King (Blu-ray)

Not to speak for Ron, but, it is Jeff Goldblum. I think it's kinda neat. He's a great actor and if you are so inclined Ron, I'd love to hear the story behind the pic.

Re: USHE Press Release: The Scorpion King (Blu-ray)

We got to meet Jeff at last year's EMA show, and I'm sure that's where that pic is from, tho I didnt take that one. We're shipping out at 4AM for this year's! Look for pics with Pauly Shore later in the week

TonyD, would you recommend The Scorpion King? I am on the fence because I like both of the Mummy's, but SK I thought was okay and not good.

Re: USHE Press Release: The Scorpion King (Blu-ray)

Kris Deering at Home Theater Mag has given high praise to the new U-control so I was hoping it is much improved. My copy still has not arrived =(

Scorpion King is not in the same league as the first Mummy IMO but its not a bad movie.

Re: USHE Press Release: The Scorpion King (Blu-ray)

i dont know sam it seems the same to me.

you can press the red button to turn it on or off anytime you want but the
mechanism of it still works the same as far as i can tell.

the u-c utton pops up and you have to hit enter for it to do anything.
most of the time as before you catch it late so you always miss the very beginning of the featurette.

this is another problem with the u-c is that it doesnt start the show when you hit enter but it is actually running along with the movie in the backround.

as for scorpion king, alex, if you saw the movie before then you already know the movie.
i havent had a chance to sample the dts-ma track yet or so know idea on how good the BR is.

Let us know when you are done watching. I am sure the AQ should be just as good if not better then the older Mummy movies.

Re: USHE Press Release: The Scorpion King (Blu-ray)

audio in SK is just as superb as on the Mummy.
plenty of surround action and full pans across the rears.

i noticed during Rocks fight with .... that the sound of a missed punch flew directly past my right ear in the right SS speakers .

i think the Mummy may have had just a tiny bit more sub umph.

the pq ranges from nearly perfect crystal clear to showing speckles/dirt appearing
during some of the desert scenes.
this is only a very small amount of the movie.

unfortunately the only extra is the dir commentary.

all of the other extras are only watchable using u-control.
