Apparently, an Amazon.com "exclusive":

Also, a Blu-Ray version is supposed to be coming that same day.

Hi, Walter. City Lights Media are a fairly new company. Their home video wing works "in partnership with Warner/Elektra/Atlantic Corporation (WEA)," and they seem very competent, judging by the reviews of DVDs of they have released. The fact that they are releasing a Blu-Ray seems to indicate they are a serious outfit.

That is very good news! This movie is a masterpiece and could not be found in dvd yet. Looks like a very good edition.

Finally!

This is one of the movies I still have on VHS only - and it was time long ago already to see it on DVD.
Let's keep our fingers crossed re. the overall quality.

PS: Just found out that there will be a BD version on the same day. Probably go for that one. Hope it's not ruined by excessive application of DNR.

I think he means DVNR=digital video noise reduction

Got word from Amazon that the 2-disc CE shipped, but the BD is delayed.

Not happy.
Hopefully it's only a few days.

Any reviews?
I vaguely remember seeing this on TV way back, but that is about all I can remember, and the fact that I was fascinated by it.
Wonder if it still holds up, and if it is worth a blind(ish) buy at $25 (pretty steep, no?)?
