Weird change on my desktop and program layouts

I turned on my iMac to night to find that an outlined box around the highlighted icon on my desktop had appeared.
In the example attached it is around the Microsoft Windows XP.pvs. If none of the desktop icons are highlighted a
little outlined box shows up in the upper left hand corner of the desktop.

The other odd thing is that the same outline is around the red ball in a program to close the program out or any icon in the
program that is highlighted at the time.

I didn't change any settings on my desktop or programs that would make this start happening. Does anyone have an idea
of how to turn this off?

Did you launch it? Looks like an update via virtual machine.

Re: Weird change on my desktop and program layouts

If I click on any other icon on the desktop that icon will get outlined. The functionality of the icon isn't effected in any way.

I also found by turning on the audio of my system that the VoiceOver was turned on. I turned that off and the outlined icons went away. I didn't turn on VoiceOver so it was weird that this was on.

That Microsoft file is something that gets dumped on your desktop
by Parallels seemingly every time Windows gets updated. Just
delete that file. It serves no purpose.

Parker, you may have hit the key combo (+Fn+F5) turning Voiceover on without realizing it. I've did it a couple times myself.

What file are you referring to? VoiceOver is a Mac program and not with Windows.
