Red-band trailer

I've read the script and Pitt makes what was funny on the page even more hilarious

This has the potential to be a great ensemble. Can't wait.

The trailer looks really good, and the cast looks really, really good. I hope this will be a good comedy from the brothers. I haven't seen The Ladykillers (heard it wasn't good) and while I liked Intolerable Cruelty, it wasn't nearly as good as their other comedies, like Big Lebowski or Raising Arizona. But I can't wait to see it.

Re: BURN AFTER READING -New Coen Bros

Looks like a lot of fun. Laugh-out-loud trailer, and rather violent - pretty much what the Coens do best. And ever since To The White Sea ended, I've been wanting to see Brad Pitt in a Coen Brothers film, and it looks like he fits right in.

Although one quibble about the trailer (and I'm blaming the promotion people for this, not the Coens) - the Coens couldn't really be considered the "creators" of No Country For Old Men. They were the "makers" of NCFOM, and they definitely created The Big Lebowski, but Cormac McCarthy was the creator of NCFOM. Would it really have made a difference if they had said "the makers of NCFOM"?

Lebowski was a comedy?

Lebowski is a way of life.

Re: BURN AFTER READING -New Coen Bros

I watched that trailer twice in a row. I thought that it looked great. It has a great, fun, weird feel to it. I hope it translates from the trailer into the whole movie. I loved seeing Pitt acting like a goof. He does it well!

Oh...and the Red Band designation...if I had not noticed the red band, I never would have noticed the R rated content. Maybe I am getting desensitized???

It's a trailer that I think could easily be reedited to a green-band trailer, with a few judicious cuts. Multiple uses of the word "shit" are the obvious problems. Other than that, who really knows. "Dickwad" might be a problem, there is an anal sex joke that might be a bit too much for the MPAA, the Russian is smoking (are they increasing ratings because of smoking yet?), and there are a few flashes of people swinging things at other people. And since you apparently can't even show people pointing guns at other people in a green-band, any of these things could be enough.
