Samsung BD-P1400 BR problems...

I am wondering if some of the things I am experiencing with this BR player are "normal" or not. Any help is appreciated. I am connecting it to a Panasonic 1080p 50 plasma (the 85z model).

1) Takes forever to load a BR disc...probably 1/2 minute?
2) When I first turn it on the TV shows only static for quite sometime...probably 10-12 seconds?
3) Has frozen a few times at spots in the disc. Have to turn the device off to do anything.
4) It "hiccups" during the movie...almost like it hit a glitch in the disc, which it didn't since is a brand new BR disc.

Thanks...did I get a lemon? Does it need new software?

Of the four items you list only number 1 is typical (actually 30 seconds is quick). If you have new unit first upgrade the firmware to the current release (v1.7) and then see if your problems are fixed (I don't think so, but give it a try). If you continue to have these problems, and it is new, exchange it for a new one. If you have an older unit then you will have to return it to Samsung for repair.

Well...I took the unit back to BBuy and exchanged for a new one...and this one seems to work just fine! I made it through 10 minutes of the movie without one hang up or "glitch".
