Expected this as the timing is right in line for the theatrical release of "W". Think Mr. Stone is trying to make a point?

I'll definitely rent the director's cut on blu to see the movie again, as it's been a long time since I've seen it. Isn't this this the movie where Nixon had knowledge beforehand of both JFK and RFK assassinations? Gotta love the Stone conspiracies in his biographes.

The other interesting comparison will be to the Ron Howard film of Frost/Nixon, based on the play by Peter Morgan (writer of The Queen). It hits theaters in December. Although the new film focuses on the Nixon interviews with David Frost, it really does cover much of the same territory that Stone tried to cover in Nixon. But Morgan manages to show how sometimes, in drama, less can be more.

I'll still pick up this Blu-ray. I think Hopkins' Nixon is one of his most interesting and least-appreciated performances.

It's been a while since I've seen it but I don't remember anything like that. They do show him plotting the assassination of Fidel Castro.

I really hope its not called Election Year Edition.

However its one of my favorite films and is a must have.

I was wondering just a couple weeks ago how long Id have to wait for this disc.

After 10 years of non16x9 disappointing DVDs, really looking foward to seeing this in HD.

Cant wait!
