need help with YAMMY HTR 6180

I can't seem to get the remote to work at all? I even changed the batteries it lites up when you push a button but it won't change anything on the unit.
even the vol. control won't work any ideas would be great.

Probably a silly question, but are you sure that you´ve "amp" (or similar) selected from the remote?
