They still teach it. Most people just don't care, and a lot of the punctuation/spelling mistakes are just that, mistakes. Doesn't really bother me unlsse thye tlkas leik tihs THAN maybe I'll decide to just skip over it.

Thanks, I appreciate it. They have no loyalty at all, and are always running off. Do you think an invisible fence will work with dogs of war?

Dogs of War need freedom! They need a big area to run, you cant fence them in!

Unbelieveable!!

So the people who actually take the time to write properly need more education than the ones who don't?

Well clearly your reading comprehension would be so incredibly low, I doubt properly punctuated and spelled things would be all that easy for you.

And the world is doomed because people are concerned about "you're/your" instead of things like corn shortages, etc...

And I don't think anyone, especially the comedy police, appreciates "jeebus christmas"....

No, the world is doomed because stupid people are going to eventually be making the rules using logic like yours. Logic which at its heart is nothing but an excuse for mediocrity and laziness.

Yeah, because informal posting on a message board, which is basically the pub scenario for lazy asses who don;t go out socializing/people who work jobs with little free time, is the standard that we as a civilization should strive for by nit picking spelling and grammer about 3 topics up from where grown men buy star wars dolls and post pictures of them. I like to the presumption that a well worded law is better then the law itself.... Oh my, Orwell would of loved this thread.

Honestly, just think what could be accomplished if you guys put this energy into something truely worthwhile that could positively impact lives instead of just being a snooty ego stroke.

Re: A pet peeve of mine

Befor I get started I thought I would share my post from the other Thread
(#62) This post goes out to all those who feel that punctionsation, spellin and capitalazation or proof reading do not matter. I am posting this the way I type ths first time with out the items listed previously and fat fingers included. With communication, body language and empesis on certian words makes up more of the message than the words thimselvs. Whit out teh body language and hearing the emphisis on words the reader must rely more on the words written to get the intended message. This is why the smiles and dancing bannanas wer added. they help to convey some of the emotions. the way posts are written with spelling and grammer, reflect alot about the poster and his personality. I would assume that you wouldn't show up for a job interview in Bermuda shorts and a Hawaiian shirt. Or would you show up at a back yard barbique dressed in a 3 poece sute. They style should be geared to the intended audiance. When IO post I feel that I am making a contrubtion to the original post / conversation andd I try to do it in a way that the readers will eaasily read it. I feel people who post wioth out spell check, grammer etc.. do not care about the reader, they just want to put their point ov view out. Obviously some leaway is made for people whos first language is not english. So, all those who don't take the time to spellcheck or check grammer, or capitalize, How do you like reading posts written like this? in all honesty, this is what anything I write looks like the first time. I did not ake this up.

Re: A pet peeve of mine

Well, to answer you Dave. I found it easy to read, totally understood it and see no reason to judge you based on mistakes made in it.

But I'm in the minority.

As opposed to the snooty ego self-stroke of the philistine who constantly belabors those who strive to meet (and *gasp* even surpass) the thinnest of societal expectations? Excuse my language, but spare me your fucking diatribe there, Madame Defarge.

I feel it is kind of like walking out in a public place wearing only spandex held up by suspenders with your belly hanging over. You won't get arrested for being indecent, but no one wants to see that!

Madame Defarge philistine? How do you post from 1850? I'm not stroking my ego, you'll note that I'm not correcting anyone in this thread. I just can't believe that there's this much ire over simple typing mistakes, mistakes that don't do anything to make any post illegible. I like too how theres the constant "We can make concessions for those who have english as a second language."

So, basically, those people are simple and forgiven, where as everyone else is a retard, regardless of things like:

Fetal alchohol Syndrom
Dyslexia
Abusive house holds

and other things that can impact typing/spelling, since they should be more careful and know better. And if people with those problems are forgivin too, then you should be ashamed of yourselves frankly, because rather then being empathetic human beings, your being judgemental snooty ego stroking pricks. Which explains why this stuff is such a wild hair up your asses.
But forgive me, I'm the retard philistine here.

Listen asswipe, being judgmental and critical of those who try to adhere to convention is the same snooty ego stroking you claim to loathe, except you're taking pride in your lack of adherance, hence the charge of "philistine."

I can understand you calling our lobbing of grammar grenades as snooty, but if you can't see that you are doing the same thing from the "Duh, I likes being dumb!" side of the fence, then your self-diagnosis of "retarded" is probably more accurate than you think.

As to having a "wild hair up (my) ass", how would you like to compare post counts in this thread?

there's a difference between expecting empathy, and proactivly championing "the dumb".

Maybe the laws of grammar, like the laws of physics, don't hold constant throughout the universe... at least that's what Steeve said.

PS: "people's" and "proactively", and it's pronounced "as-weep-ay"

I apologize for the name calling. I did not realize accusations of being a "judgemental snooty ego stroking prick" and having "a wild hair up (my) ass" could double as terms of endearment, unlike "asswipe" which carries no such subtlety. I do admire your empathy, though.

A number of participants in this thread should consider themselves warned. It should be obvious who they are.
