I was convinced that I would be buying the Epson 1080P projector for my absolutely dark room and run it in economy mode and still get a bright enough picture. The Sony VM 40 is more money; but would work well in my dark HT.
I have a narrow 9.5' room and a low 7' ceiling underneath my garage. I would have preferred a larger and higher room, of course: but this is what it is and I am determined to make it work and silence my critcs, hopefully.
A friend of mine totally hates the 3 LCD of the Epson and suggests that a DLP would be better, such as Optoma (limited in heigth of screen and a color wheel which I would like to avoid). I don't like fan noise; but I will have to put up with it with the Epson, whereas the Sony is very quiet.
Oh, my friend says there is a convergence problem with the 3 LCD in the Epson and it does not have a sealed bulb to keep out dust, etc
Any views as to problems with the Epson? Should I spend the extra bucks and get the Sony?
