A/V Wiring help

I have a new home and am looking for some ideas on routing my A/V wires.

All of the components such as Reciever, DVD player, SUB, Satellite etc will be in a closet adjacent to the same room. The idea I am after is to hide all the components with the exception of the TV and speakers. I plan on using an RF remote for control of the components, and will wire a panel as needed in the closet for connectivity. When I desire the use of the SUB, I will just open the closet door.

The TV is on a wall about 20ft wide, 10ft ceilings, and hardwood floors. There is an upsatirs so access for wiring there is out. This same wall is a bearing wall sitting on a foundation, so wiring under it presents an issue. I would really like to run the wires under the floor as access is easy. Oh, this same wall is also shared with my garage, which is also already finished, but access from the backside is there if needed.

Is there a nice clean way to do this? or am I stuck using some kind of ugly plastic miolding on the exterior of the walls?

If I have to notch a hole in the hardwood on that wall, I can, as long as it is cosmetically coverd up well afterwards. I really havent the opportunity to do this kind of work, so I am open for any creative ideas.

Putting the sub in the closet will make it sound like it is playing in another room (it is). Put the sub in the room with the rest of the speakers. If you want a hidden sub, then disguise it as furniture (end table) or build an IB sub.

Most of us here use our sub all of the time. Having the door open on the closet every time the sub is used sort of defeats the purpose of hiding the equipment.

Not always. A family member moved into a new house and wondered how DirecTV would run his wires from the dish to the receiver in the living room. We crawled into the attic and I showed him where we could drill to run the wires. It was difficult to carry a 16ft ladder into the attic to climb behind his son's upstairs room but it was required for the job. He had no idea that this portion of the wall was really his living room wall.

This sounds like the easiest way. You can temporarily knock holes into the drywall and patch them later. Read this thread and the writeup Wayne did - link. Also, with a shared wall on the garage, you can easily do an IB sub.

Point taken, its not bad now where it is as furniture.

No access in the attick, I was up there, and there is no access.

Thanks for the link, but I'll stick with my Sub as is for now.
