Here is a nice little present (that will no doubt screen with Avatar).  Looks quite good, with a rather huge money shot at the end.

Very much looking forward to this one.

That looks kick-ass. I bet this is better then the first, which is quite very rare for sequels.
hmm not sure what that does for me...

It's kind of a disjointed trailer, but I think the movie's going to be really good.  I get kind of a Rocky IV feel when Tony is being a rock star and the Russian is toiling away to beat him.

Nice teaser. I'm already more excited for this movie more than I've been for any flick since The Dark Knight. Next May can't get here soon enough!

Would have been nice if Downey was playing Tony Stark instead of Robert Downey.

I second that. But apparently Favreu wanted Downey to play Downey.

here is some interesting news with regards to Iron Man 3

In a recent interview with MTV, War Machine co-creator Bob Layton has shared his thought on the possible storyline for "Iron Man 3".

"I think they've come up with a terrific segue to the third film, which I think is going to be fairly powerful," Layton said. "My understanding is that the third film could very well be the 'Demon in a Bottle' story mixed in there with everything and I'm kind of looking forward to that, if that's where they wind up going."

"Demon in a Bottle" is a nine-issue of Iron Man story which follows Tony Stark dealing with his alcohol addiction while trying to save his company and reputation from Justin Hammer. Written by David Michelinie and Bob Layton, this arc was first published in 1979.

During the chat, Layton also talked about "Iron Man 2", particularly on why Jim Rhodes should appear in "Iron Man 2" rather than in the next sequel. "I think there are a variety of reasons to have the War Machine character in there. If they're doing 'The Avengers' film, they always have the option of using War Machine instead of Iron Man depending upon what happens contractually. I'm just speculating, I have no idea... But there's always the possibility that if it does well, it can spinoff," he elaborated.

The character is the latest to appear in multiple Marvel productions as the comicbook company's film division preps for the eventual production of "The Avengers," which unites Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Captain America and Thor in one pic. Marvel has been keen on brokering deals with actors to make sure auds will recognize characters when they crossover and appear in its other films.

Gregg's Agent Coulson also will return in the upcoming "Iron Man 2."

New trailer: http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/paramount/ironman/

This is going. to. rock.

This could actually be one of those rare breeds: a sequel better than the original.

Great trailer!

The new trailer is great stuff.  The above notes "the rare sequel better then the original".. I'm hoping this is X2 to X-Men.  I liked X-Men, good flick, but X2 was great stuff.  I'm hoping for the same type of thing here.   The trailer really succeeds here in ramping up my interest.

Was a great trailer, actually looking forward to it now.  The first trailer only left me luke warm.

It sure does look good, but trailers do not a movie make. You're being marketed. Only a butt in a seat at the theater will reveal the truth. Fingers crossed.
Definitely looks solid.
Nah it's not in 3-D. I'll wait for the next one.
This is seen in the trailer, but I'll spoilerize for those who don't even go as far as trailers:

Probably probably need need some extra extra words words to defeat defeat the thread preview.  Safety dance, dance, dance, dance.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Briefcase armor!  Not quite how it was in the comics, but maybe a little cooler.  It definitely makes more sense to a general audience than cloth-like material that becomes the Iron Man suit.

Unfortunately, the bit that you spoilered does ruin that tension point in the movie.

So once again, the headline is

People That Make Trailers to Potential Audiences: Drop Dead
post #236 of 264
The thing that bugs me is that Stark's mission in the first movie was to use the reactor arc technology in the Iron Man suit to get his company's weapons out of bad guys' hands.  Now in this movie, there's someone else with the technology and weapon suits.  So Stark's legacy is that he's introduced yet another weapons system into the world to cause pain and suffering.  If they're setting him up to become a pessimistic drunk, okay, but I'll probably skip that movie.  I would much rather they let him be unique and optimistic, a singular force for good.

It's sort of like Spider-Man finally gets things straightened out with Mary Jane, she's cool with him being Spidey... and in the next movie she does a 180, is resentful of Spidey, and everything's all convenient conflict and tension.  Same thing in the Zorro sequel.

I think these screenwriters are trying so hard to bring in conflict so their characters can grow/change that they don't see what they're growing/changing into -- a bunch of drags who aren't fun to watch.  If you can't have fun watching someone run around in a silly costume, I mean, what's the point?

very cool trailer indeed
Its baffles to me as to why they would put that breifcase spot in the trailer.

That would have been a nice suprise.
Jon, I imagine there's a certain level of "we have to prove that there's something new and cool" in this movie at the studio to assure a big run at the theaters.  Obviously they don't care much about spoilers -- except when they can market the hype around having a secret twist...
I havent read Iron Man in forever, but Im guessing the suitcase thing isnt something he still does, is it?

If not, its kind of a nice nod to older fans - I would have liked to have suprised with that.
