Paying tribute to the best-loved and most colorful performer from the canon of Fox musicals, the Carmen Miranda Collection features five of the iconic Portuguese star’s most popular films, including Doll Face, Greenwich Village, If I'm Lucky and Something For The Boys, debuting on DVD for the first time. The collection also includes a newly remastered version of The Gang’s All Here. A pop culture phenomenon whose influence remains to this day, Miranda gained fame for popularizing the samba, donning elaborate headdresses made of fruit and wearing her trade-mark sarongs, earning her two nicknames – The Brazilian Bombshell and The Lady in the Tutti Frutti hat. Full of song and dance, the films in the Carmen Miranda Collection include: Doll Face, the story of a woman dismissed from an audition who decides to write a biography to gain culture, but things get out of hand when a ghostwriter is hired to do all the work; Something For The Boys about a group of friends who inherit a southern plantation and in order to convert the space into a hotel they decide to put on a show. Greenwich Village follows a novice composer who falls for a singer while hoping to publish his concert in New York; If I’m Lucky is a musical rendition of a crooner who goes to the extreme when running for State Governor; and in The Gang’s All Here a soldier has a love affair with a showgirl.
