Re: Casino Royale (40th anniversary) 1967 version with Peter Sellers June 08

As much as I REALLY try to warm up to this film, I just find it an overblown and mostly unfunny mess. I saw it in its 1967 theatrical run and have seen it several times since, including on DVD, and I think about the only worthwhile aspect of it for me is the Bacharach score. So much great talent....so little result.

It looks like this release has been postponed until Oct 21.

While apparently there are few people hereabouts who regard the film with any affection, I personally look on it as a key movie of its era - a film which went wrong, but a film which could only have been produced at that specific time in the 1960s and which reflects that era in its incoherence.

I'd like to see the movie given the full restoration treatment - deleted scenes and such - and (and here's the reason I'm posting) I'm wondering if any unused material has survived. Anybody know?
