For those interested a longer cut of Dark City with new FX is in the works An hour + long doc is mentioned and would be one of the bonus features.

BD Horror News - David Goyer Talks New 'Dark City' Release!

It may have a short theatrical run first, a BD seems more than likely.

If any Warner/New Line reps read HTF anymore: Please include BOTH cuts on the BD.

Re: Dark City Redux in the works

Very good news. I can“t remember much about the movie at the moment, but count me in. And yes, both versions would be ideal, especially if some CGI-tweaks are created for the new version.

Re: Dark City Redux in the works

I will be very disappointed if there is not a Blu-ray Disc release of this. I remember enjoying the DVD when I saw it way back in the nascent days of my HT hobby. So early, in fact, that I watched the whole movie without releasing my sub wasn't plugged in.

DARK CITY is a personal favorite and an absolute must for Blu-ray. A full blown special edition with both cuts would be nice.

Good to hear. And agreed, would love to have both cuts on the same BD.

Re: Dark City Redux in the works

One of my top 5 fav sci fi flims..an awesome, intelligent film with a great commentary track on the current release and with all the dark colors in this one...will make an astonishing BD release. Dare I say it will merit a " few words by Robert Harris"

Re: Dark City Redux in the works

I thought there was another thread about this rumored release late last year but I can't seem to find it. My one plea is that they keep the stellar Roger Ebert commentary track from the original SD release. One of my all time favorites.
