Thought it was worse than the movie. Michael Knight never used a gun, why does his son?

The KITT driving around all on fire plot was bad, he should have just drove into a river or lake lol.

I liked the pilot. This first episode was a real mix of groan inducing tongue in cheek characters, the geeky guy and Asian girl, to the ultra serious government guy. The beginning was so James Bond with the gadgets and fighting skills I guess he learned in the military.

It was so aimed at the 14 year olds! I have no trouble admitting I like that kind of stuff most of the time. But I am not sure yet about this version of Knight Rider. I must be getting old! I agree with Scott, made sense to "kill him" and now we have to watch to see his past revealed. The leads are an attractive couple.

Forgot to add, just because they can, doesn't mean they should. The ability of KITT to morph and change might be a bit over the top. I hated the hot rod thing it turned into, what was that?! The super pursuit version in the pilot was a lot better designed.

edit: Scott, the blue convertible with gull wing doors Michael chases is a Spyker C8 Spyder SWB. I don't know that much about them, the company is European; Amsterdam and Dutch and goes back to 1903, they started as coach builders and now obviously make exotic sports cars. The guy with long white hair is Bruce Davidson, and he was in the pilot too.

Ok so I was a huge fan of the miserably failed series Viper. So yea, I loved Knight Rider or Viper 2.0 if you will.

Viper was a great show. A lot of the show was filmed here in Calgary on the streets near my house, which was really cool. My cousins were extras on one of the episodes.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to like this Knight Rider though. Bad acting, the care changes into to many different versions, too ridiculous stories so far... I'll give it a few weeks to see if it improves.

Not sure what to make of the show yet...i'm 50/50 on the premier...Will give the show another shot. I have faith.

I'm a massive fan of the original series. To the point that I *almost* started building my own KITT. Got rid of my ol' T/A though. (Oddly enough, I have a new Mustang... to be fair, I bought it before the tv movie was out...)

I didn't MIND the movie. Sure, they needed to make some changes, but I liked the new KITT, and the nano-tech that it was based on. Plus the big-screen in the stereo/a-c area of the dash was kinda cool.

Seems to me the series is aimed at 14 year old boys. The car is riced out to the point of being ridiculous. Neon lights and a big KR on the bottom of the car? Blue LEDs in "pursuit mode"? And don't even get me started on the ridiculous intakes that pop up through the hood. I *hate* the "Transformers" feel to the car. At least the nano-tech felt *slightly* believable.

I thought they cheaped out on KITTs interior... standard GT500K dash with a HAL-style light, and some lights on the dash "brows". Otherwise, it's stock now? What happened to the big LCD screen? It was better to go with the HUD that is always in the drivers view? (Not sure how Mike was still driving during a high-speed pursuit with all the crap on the windscreen in front of him.) The original KITT had custom stuff everywhere, and dozens of controls. The new one just has a HAL eye?

There are boobs everywhere, and the Billy character needs to die a quick death.

The acting was average-to-lousy... the lead woman is just terrible. The plot (such as it was) was lame.

...all in all, I had high hopes for the series, and I'm not sure if I'll make it through another episode. This was just BAD.

C'mon, I know the original series was cheesy fun, but this? The cheese is rather smelly, and not tasty at all...

Why does IMDB only list Val Kilmer as the voice of KITT for 1 episode? I thought they were all him.

I don't know, but it was funny this super Mustang could not catch up to the Spyker driven by a woman.

Maybe they should have given the new Camaro to Knight Rider (more fitting) and a Mustang to "My Own Worst Enemy".

I saw the first episode last night. I had TiVo'd it.
All i can say is, i liked the 80s version even if it was a slice of cheese. This one is just BAD!
The Hoff, and the Trans Am, have nothing to worry about.

"Michael" was interviewed on the Today Show and he said the reson they went with Mustang was because the original car isn't made anymore and Transformers has the new Camaro.

I missed the TV movie when it aired. Where can I watch it and do I need to see it before I start watching the series episodes?

I can't seem to find the DVD of the tv movie. Netflix and other sites say its not available yet.

Watched the second episode, to give it more of a chance.... and then promptly took it off my record list. The comments about it being aimed at 14 year old boys seem right on track, after they go to a Playboy mansion style party in the second episode I'm sure mainly just to show lots of girls in bikinis.

Yup Joe, I watched the second one too.

While I certainly don't mind boobs, not exactly what I was hoping for in the show.

More 14-year old puerile BS. *sigh* I want to like the show, I really do. But the plot was so thread-bare and so damn transparent, I can't believe it.

My wife and I sat dumbfounded.

"Gee, do you think she's gonna get caught stealing the car?"

"Uh oh, do you think Michael's old friend might turn on them?"

Could we get a little MORE cliche-ridden?

Plus, not only can the billion-dollar super-car NOT out-race production super-cars, but it can't handle an impact from it's own turbo-boost? Plus once again the so-called super-car has to transform into a pickup to handle off-roading?

So other than putting graphical screens on it's hood, and talking, what DOES the billion bucks get you? Oh yeah, boobs on the heads-up display through the high-tech sunglasses being worn by the .... chick in the bikini.

*shakes head*

They couldn't have missed the mark much more, unless they forgot to load the gun AND dropped the clip while pointing it...

The show is so UNINTELLIGENT that I can't even hate it. All I can do is marvel at the missed opportunity, and say that the production team that came up with this concept needs to go back to making cartoons and/or soft-porn.

Everyone is basing this series on the idea that it's a remake. This series isin't a remake. It's not like how they bastardized Battlestar Galactica; now that's a remake or reimagining or whatever political correct terms they're using these days.

This series is the continuation of the Knight Rider saga and Michael Knight/David Hasselhoff passing off of the torch was a nice touch.

While I agree that the direction of the television series leaves a lot to be desired I think the producers have turned this series into a high tech version of Knight Rider meets Mission Impossible and they are going to continue to lose the focus of the series and the support among fans if they don't dump the "secret government operatives" angle. Oh, and is everyone tired of hearing the "I received the same training as you did, Mike?" Sheesh. Enough already.

If they took the series down the same avenue as they did with the original series I really think the series could flourish. INstead, we're left with a series where Michael has had his memory erased and getting rid of the government secret agent angle and getting rid of the Alex Torres would be one step towards the right direction.

All in all, I think the first two episodes were pretty good. I did hate the "let's do a fast and the furious television episode." Pretty cheap, if you ask me.

I got a chance to see the second episode on the Saturday night repeat. Wasn't as bad as I thought. As I said earlier, still aimed at the 14 year olds.



Pretty cheaply done. What was worse is they got one of the actors who was in FaF Tokyo Drift!

The way they've got Michael teamed up with Sarah isn't so bad. But it gets away from the original "One man can make a difference" theme. Sydney Poittier's daughter is wasted. I agree, the secret government agency angle is questionable right now. Perhaps they got some kind of thing set up for later, especially that business with Michael's tattoo activating something on KITT's hood.

There was one flash of sentiment towards the second half and the end as Michael and KITT start to bond in the way Hasselhoff did, IIRC. They're shooting for the man and his trusty stead, Roy Rogers and Trigger thing. That was a nice bit, probably close to being lost with all the emphasis on high techery and Government spy stuff. The preview's for next week shows Michael teamed up with the Asian chick. Could this show be veering towards that cheaply made Team Knight Rider series? Almost like a hybrid of the original and Team Knight Rider.

I still hate the pursuit mode KITT version. The turbo boost jump over the car with the family in it was really bad! The Bionic Woman's and CSI's influence of going CGI and into the guts of the car as the fuel passes through the engine and combusting into turbo mode took so much time, KITT would have crashed into that car! I did like how he fried KITT by transforming while in the air, That was well done, CGI wise. Though too Transformer-ish.

Come now, Adam, at least the show is being true to it's source series, the original series was also this way. It's light, fun and playful and it isn't pretending to be anything else.

I like Zoe. Having a thing for asian women this girl was driving me all sorts of crazy with her amorous behavior and playful way of speaking, she looks like someone you could really have fun with.

I watched last week's episode last night. I thought it was entertaining. I had no idea that the man behind the bar (and who knew Michael during war time) was going to turn out to be a baddie. Too bad greed got the best of him. I knew he was a goner when K.I.T.T. mentioned he didn't have enough time to stop his forward momentum as he neared the cliff. I would have liked to have seen him become a semi-regular in the series, provided he was on Michael (and Sarah's) side.

I thought the opening car chase sequence was good. I'm not sure about the change of K.I.T.T. into other vehicles yet; I suppose it's a neat gimmick, but I wonder about its limits (that is to say, the limits of overuse, not the limits of K.I.T.T.). I do like the actor who plays Michael, and as one of the posters above said, Zoe is fun to watch in her role.

Was it made clear who was responsible for the 'tatoo technology' being implemented on the hood of K.I.T.T.? If it was, I must have missed it. Both Michael and Sarah hadn't a clue; I'm guessing it's the grey-haired man back at ... 'Center.'
