Sub help please?

I have a new Denon 3803CI. I have Paradigm Studio 60's with matching center. I am using a 10 or 11 year old JBL sub. Still sounds okay, but will clip if you start to crank it. I am looking at 3 different subs as of right now. My system is in about a 800 Sq Ft listening area. The is a large opening on the left side of the room that is where my computer desk is and the hallway to go upstairs. So I am not sure of the actualy Sq ft of both areas combined. I listen to music as well as movies. Probably more movies than music 60/40, but music accuracy is important to me. Thanks for any help.

I think you are right about taking the compact off of the list. From the reviews that I have read, I don't believe that you could go wrong with either one. The Outlaw is slightly cheaper at 499 to the SVS at 549. I think I might be leaning toward the SVS do to the small footprint.

It looks like I may have to go with the compact. The location I have for the sub the other two will not fit in.

The width is the problem. the SVS PB10-NSD is 15" wide. That is wider than the space between my right front, & my TV/Equipment stand.

I actually went ahead an ordered a LFM-1 Compact last night.

I believe that it will be enough for my HT room. I measured last night and the main listening area is around 790 Cubic ft. It has a wide opening to where my computer desk is, and that area is about another 1250 cubic ft. So I am at less than 2000 total. I think the 10" outlaw will be enough. I know that it is more than I have now. I have an 11 year old JBL that is 150 watts, with two 8". One powered, and one passive. It also only goes down to 40Hz. So I am hoping this will be a big improvement. I should have 30 days to decide.

The only way that I could get bigger is to move it to the back of the room under the end table beside the couch. Not sure the wife would like the couch vibrating. Also the one I have now doesn't sound bad most of the time. It will clip if I crank it. I have to turn up the volume on it so that you can hear it at normal levels the way I want. Then when you do turn it up you have to back it down. I was watching the Eagles Live from Melbourne DVD last Friday. When they start to play Life's been good, I cranked it. Then I had to jump up and turn down the sub, because it was clipping. I actually order the LFM-1 Compact online on Monday Night. I hope it will ship today. I order it from the B List. It was 349.00 even. No tax, and free shipping. I have also heard a lot of good things about Outlaw in general. I even read that Dr. HSU helped to design their subs. Can't wait to get it and hear what it is like.

Well Outlaw emailed me this afternoon. FedEx has my sub so maybe if I am lucky it will arrive by Friday. Not sure where it is coming from yet. I know Outlaw is in MA. Not sure if that is where there equipment comes from or not.

My new LFM-1 Compact arrived on Friday. I got it set up and configured. I ran the Audyssey for my Denon again using 6 different points. I sure that they are plenty of subs that can go deeper, and cost more, but this thing is a huge step up from what I was using. My wife could even tell a big difference, and she can never see or hear what I hear. The bass is way more tighter than anything I have had before. It is clean with no boomyness. Watched part of the Eagles from Melborne DVD. The kick drum was pounding my chest. I really believe that if I had went with a larger sub, it would have been to much for my listening area. Thanks for the advice from everyone.
