Any news on what's being released with Shout Factory and do they check the message board people put suggestions as never see any replies written, except one. What shows do you think are contenders for a Shout Release.
Are they able to retain rights from any company? I find there sight not that easy to find out what is coming etc.

There are two (and vintage) releases that are coming off the top of my head:

Father Knows Best: Season One (4/1)
Hiya, Kids!: A '50s Saturday Morning (5/6)

Yes, they do read and respond to posts/suggestions. Brian Ward has responded to a few mine.

To answer your other questions, they have an exclusive licensing agreement with Universal. They've also got rights to several shows from other companies or rights holders. "Father Knows Best", "Ozzie & Harriet", "Freaks & Geeks", "Undeclared", "My So-Called Life", "Oliver's Twist" (well, the first release that is), to name a few. Shout! like any other independent company can be limited by what they can acquire. It depends on if they are able to get licensing rights (if they are even available to acquire).

You can sign up for their monthly newsletter to be notified of future releases (or you can read them on the site). Also check their news and press release sections.

Look for "macphoen" on the community forum. I've made a few suggestions of series that I would like to see Shout! tackle. Some are possible, while others aren't likely to be done by them.

Re: What's coming up with Shout Factory?

ok thanks, made a few posts about shows like Marcus Welby MD, Matt Lincoln, The Jean Arthur Show, Fast Times, The Bold Ones: The Protectors and Street Hawk.

No idea if any of these shows are contenders for a release but would love to own them.

Re: What's coming up with Shout Factory?

I just checked out their website and I'm thrilled to see that they recently released some episodes of Pucca on DVD. Hopefully they'll release more.

I'd like to see more Dick Cavett collections in the future too.

I forgot about MSTK 3000. (I knew it was something major they were releasing, but couldn't remember what it was.)

Re: What's coming up with Shout Factory?

I'm very happy to see that they are planning on releasing Volume 2 of Swamp Thing on July 15, 2008 and they are planning extras for Volume 3.

Swamp Thing DVD news: Box Art for Swamp Thing - The Series: Volume 2 | TVShowsOnDVD.com

I really enjoyed the the first 2 seasons on Volume 1, very cheesy but fun. The more I watched it, the more I got into it. I missed the kid after he left the show but loved his exit, Kari Wurher and Scott Garrison are ok replacements but I liked the rest of the cast.

Re: What's coming up with Shout Factory?

Hi. I am glad to see you want MATT LINCOLN released on dvd. I have been trying for so long to get this series released. The best way to let Universal Home Entertainment know is to e-mail them - USHE.consumerrelations@bydeluxe.com. Also, e-mail for Shout!Factory is info@shoutfactory.com. MATT LINCOLN is in demand all over the internet. If you type in " matt lincoln tv series to buy" you can see for yourself. I spoke with Universal. The more requests they receive the better the chance of finally dusting off the cobwebs and getting Matt lincoln on dvd.

Re: What's coming up with Shout Factory?

Is it too much to want the last two seasons of That Girl and the Italian year from McHale's Navy? Plus more Elvira double features.

Re: What's coming up with Shout Factory?

I still think that the following shows would be good candidates for Shout!

Hazel
The Patty Duke Show
Gimme a Break!

GAB! could be part of an 80s revival dvd series. They could also try to obtain the rights to Out Of This World. They would compliment each other nicely.

Really upset that we didn't get more Elvira double features last October.

I really hope Shout plans some more for this year!

Re: What's coming up with Shout Factory?

There is a statement that season 5 of That Girl will be out in 2009 on the Shout message board. I will have to try to find the exact link, but Brian W., the only person from Shout that ever puts anything out there, did announce that.
