Sci-fi fans rejoice; The Bits has revealed that Universal's June slate includes Journey to the Far Side of the Sun at long last.

Is this the one about the identical-but-backwards Earth that's on the exact opposite side of the sun? I remember seeing it on SciFi years ago (when they played real sci fi movies) and it was a good Outer Limits type film.

VIVA ROY THINNES!!!!!

Yipee!

With the impending release of THE INVADERS - THE FIRST SEASON 5-disc set due out on May 06th, 2008 and now JOURNEY TO THE FAR SIDE OF THE SUN (1969) following on June 24th this IS really going to be a Roy Thinnes year!

I hope that the latter is an anamorphic widescreen (digitally enhanced for 16x9 tv screens) transfer.

Isn't it sad that at this point in time, so far removed from 1997, that we still have to hope and pray that some movie companies will release a DVD in "ANAMORPHIC!!!"

I hope that didn't just ruin the movie for me. I haven't seen it before, but I hope to pick it up..
