6 Blu-ray-players carry "DivX" playback

"Six new Blu-ray Disc players from Philips, Denon and Panasonic will include DivX playback capability, San Diego-based DivX Inc. announced March 12.

Panasonic’s DMP-BD30EE, Philips’ BDP7200 and Denon’s DVD-2500BTC1B, DVD-3800BDC1B, DVD-3800BDSP and DVD-2500BTSP are all certified for the video codec."

Does this mean they will play HDM DiVX? I couldn't glean that from either the story nor from the DiVX website.

Also...on a side note..isn't playback of this firmware driven? Thus, could existing players be flashed to allow playback?

Usually anything with divx I play on my xbox360. I have tried to play divx stuff on my PS3, but I have no success. Do I need a manual patch or something?

Do you have the latest firmware (PS3)? I don´t know much about DivX, but just asking the obvious question first..
