One I found at HHGregg currently is a Onkyo 1000-Watt 7.1 DVD Component Home Theater System with iPod® Dock
Model No: HTSP908
I listened to it at an HHGregg and it is very high quality, but also quite expensive. I am looking for a system that has all the HD 7.1 formats like Dolby HD. I need advice on either where I can find this system cheaper, or find a better system for the same price (about 1,000$). I am also looking for a really loud sub that can reproduce frequencies in about the 15hz to 100hz range, and I am willing to comprimise that to about 30hz to 100hz, but would still prefer the lower range. The sub that comes with the system above has a 25 Hz-150 Hz frequency response, and would be a nice sub to keep, but I will be running about 5 subwoofers from this system and I have done some reading around and found that the BIC H-100 is a decent sub, but only has a 24 Hz - 200 Hz (+/- 3 dB) frequency responce. Because money is the least of my concerns as I just bought a 1000$ 1080p Lcd and I am currently buying a 1000$ sound system and A 80gb PS3 with no intention of playing games, but solely to play DVDs from my external harddrive, and to have something that can play 720p and 1080i/p avi files on my new tv. My computers don't have HDMI outputs and I don't want to bother sending 1080p signals over a VGA cable. But back to the point, 1. I have no idea as to where I am going to find a sub that can play frequencies in the 15Hz range, and 2. I need a good 7.1 reciever and speakers.
If anyone is interested in my theater once I complete it I will be uploading photos. I currently have a 7.1 reciever but it doesn't have HDMI or any of the true 7.1 decoders. I currently have a 5.1 system with 2 subs one of which I am running the sub preamp output through its own reciever, solely to shake the chair that it is positioned directly behind, and another subwoofer so that the actual sound of the sub track is louder. I also Just bought a 37" 1080p LCD from sams with a four year warranty for about a 1000$, but I am considering just giving this to my brother as a wedding present, and purchasing a much larger screen with a higher contrast ratio then 10,000:1, and a 120hz refresh rate, and of course 1080p. I also plan on purchasing three of the same subwoofer, hopefully one that can play stuff that is in the 15Hz range, and placing one on the right channel, one on the subwoofer preamp, and one on the left channel, plus the sub I already have behind the chair. I am a 15 year old kid still living with my parents with an internet buisness that is about to kick off, and because of this I can afford all of this (when you aren't paying for rent, food, and electricity, you can have more important concerns such as a sweet theater). I am open to any and all suggestions on how to make this theater better then it currently is, and hope that the amount of expertise on this forum can help me.
Thanks
PS. Please note that this is all in my bedroom so I can't do anything too crazy.
