Need ideas for "protecting" a video website

Thread Starter
I'm looking for ideas on a website I'm designing for my Toastmasters Club. I've made a (demo) site for video of club members' speeches and evaluations. I've gotten largely positive responses, but many members would rather the video not be available to the greater public.

Any suggestions for managing a website that's both simple but has some basic password protection to keep non-club members out?

Dave:

You could set up some sort of .htaccess in your root directory that would require a username and password that you would send out to members only.
