Which short-run (1 season or less) show would you MOST like to see on DVD?

There are a lot of them but most of them that are really good I have good portions of through various sources. The one for me that I would most like to see come out is Roald Dahl's Way Out. I've seen them all at the museum of broadcasting and that show is great. Not every episode but enough of them are outstanding. Considering the genre, it's amazing no one has thought to try to release this yet.

My World and Welcome To It, The Paul Lynde Show, and The Smith Family. I think The Smith Family may not qualify, since it ran for a year and a half.

Re: Which short-run (1 season or less) show would you MOST like to see on DVD?

Since there are so many older one-shot type series I wouldn't mind seeing, I think I'll switch up gears and go with something more recent:

It's Your Move.

Only lasted something like 18 episodes, but I thought it was pretty darn funny at the time. Jason Bateman's and David Garrison's characters were constantly trying to one-up each other and it was generally hilarious. At least I thought it was hilarious when I was in high school. Maybe I'd feel different about it now. But going on memories I think it'd be a nice short run series for dvd.

Gary "I remember being really surprised and terribly disappointed that the show didn't get renewed for a second season" O.

I'm having a hard time making up my mind between "87th Precinct" and "Trials of O'Brien." They both seem to be up my alley, based on the examples I've seen.

Re: Which short-run (1 season or less) show would you MOST like to see on DVD?

The Pruitt's Of Southampton (1966-1967) on ABC with Phyllis Diller. She plays Phyllis Pruitt, a Long Island socialite who has to make a rapid transition from luxury to poverty when she learns she owes millions in back taxes (sort of a reverse Beverly Hillbillies). Also starred Reginald Gardiner, Grady Sutton,Pam Freeman, Richard Deacon, Gypsy Rose Lee and mid-season thru - John Astin and Marty Ingels. David Levy (The Addams Family) was the executive producerof the series for Filmways.
To the best of my knowledge only 3 episodes from this series exist from 16mm prints and they are hilarious. Would LOVE to see the entire 30 episode series officially released onto DVD.

I'd love to see either of those, Bert. I might also add "Follow the Sun" as a one season series I'd love to see released.

Gary "there are so many older series I'd like to see that fall into the One and Done pool" O.

Well, it crossed over into 2 seasons, but only had 14 episodes total, so I'm going with...

Difficult to choose just one but if it was one I would say -

1. My World and Welcome to it.

But others would be -

2. Mr. Terrific
3. Search: Probe
4. Otherworld
5. Logan's Run
6. Fantastic Journey
7. Born Free
8. He and She
9. Cowboy in Africa
10. The Paul Lynne Show
11. Captain Nice
12. Diana (with Diana Rigg)

Ditto to Ellery Queen and Snoop Sisters. I have Green Hornet DVD-Rs from Encore Action but would upgrade to an uncut commercial release should the rights issues ever get worked out.

Beacon Hill, which was the American adaptation of Upstairs, Downstairs. I doubt if few even remember this big budget failure.

Re: Which short-run (1 season or less) show would you MOST like to see on DVD?

"Journey Into the Unknown" was a 90-minute anthology series that ran one season on ABC back in 1969. The memorable opening started with eerie music playing over empty rides in motion at an amusement park. This show, while not as spectacular as "The Twilight Zone" or "The Outer Limits," IMHO was much better than Spielberg's later fantasy-based series "Amazing Stories" and deserves a release.

Re: Which short-run (1 season or less) show would you MOST like to see on DVD?

I think we had this exact topic before, but with a different title. Anyway, here's my list:

Quark
When Things Were Rotten
Legend
Spy Games (4 unaired episodes)
Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future
Wizards and Warriors
Man From Atlantis
Get Smart (ninties second series 8 or so episodes)
Bring Em Back Alive
Salvage 1 (4 unaired episodes)
Fantastic Journey

I also have a few more somewhere

James Smith--. I know you asked for only one. But I just couldn't stop.

When Journey Into the Unknown was shown in Britain the episodes were only 50 minutes in length. It was a Hammer series. I would certainly like to see it released on DVD
