Crimson Tide on Bluray, Some thoughts...

This has to be one of the finest transfers of a film I've seen. While watching this all I could do was marvel at how incredible the picture was. Other than a (very) few specs of white debris this is flawless, in my opinion. The uncompressed sound is on par with the quality of the video, amazing. The scene in which the opposing submarine launches it's double barrage of missiles is what surround sound was made for. To be thrust in the middle of that scene like I never had been before is awesome. Uncompressed audio can not be doubted. I have recently purchased all the current BD releases of the Rock, Con-Air, and now, Crimson Tide. With Crimson being the best of the lot. That's not to say the others are, by any means, bad. This one really shows off Bluray in all it's glory. Disney, keep em comin.

I picked up this title but have yet to check it out. Noice that they included the $10 rebate if you own the DVD offer. I usually never go for that kinda stuff cuz it ruins the packaging and is usually more trouble than it's worth, but $10 for 30 minutes of work ain't too bad.

Thanks Troy for your thoughts. I had to spring for this and Con Air on Blu-ray, as Amazon has each of them for about $15. How could i pass on that deal!

I still think I'll hold out until the extended version is made available (ditto for CON-AIR).

I agree. Much better than expected.
