About a year ago I bought a new emachine computer from Best Buy for maybe a little over 200.00. It was bottom line and no monitor but it was OK for what she use it for. The computer wasn't on display. I told the salesman I wanted a cheap computer for my daughter to use at college to do her school work and emailing.

If you're just a little inclined, you can buy a decent PC without a monitor from TigerDirect for like $200. They run those deals all the time.
Just what I would do....

Microcenter sell refurb Optiplex GX270 for $250
Unfortunately, in-store pick up only
If you have relative who lives within states mentioned to get it for you ?

Sometimes Dell Outlet refurbished desktop PCs cost about $200. They may be faster than other new desktop PCs.
