Re: Jericho Season 2 thread

Ah, why does it have to be Con-cast? I'm going to be moving out of their service era in June, so it's a moot point anyway. But I really do hate them. I'd hate them a little less if they save "Jericho," though...

Re: Jericho Season 2 thread

I'd Lie to see Jericho continue, but I really wish there was this Much Support for Journeyman, that show really did deserve to get picked up. NBC did pick up one show I enjoy Life, but they are gonna Bury it on Friday nights 10pm , so so much for that.

Per Sci-Fi Wire:

Quote:
Jericho Fans Buy TV Ads

Fans of the twice-cancelled CBS series Jericho are continuing their campaign to bring the show back by sponsoring more than 200 local ad spots to air on cable TV stations in the Los Angeles area. The group, dubbed the "Jericho Rangers," has already purchased a print ad in Variety and rented a billboard in downtown Los Angeles to show their support for the series and help find it a new broadcast home.

The group paid for the advertising time through a fundraising campaign which generated more than $6,000 in the past three weeks. The fan-created 30-second ad features a voiceover provided by actor Brad Beyer, who played Stanley Richmond on the show. It's scheduled to air for 10 days, beginning June 12th, during several popular cable shows, including Ghost Hunters on SCI FI Channel and Deadliest Catch on the Discovery Channel. The ad will also be hosted at the group's official site, SaveJerichoAgain.com.

Jericho was cancelled for the first time last year after one season. CBS brought it back for seven more episodes in early 2008 in response to the efforts of fans, who sent in bags of nuts in support of the show. After the new episodes earned lackluster ratings, CBS decided not to renew the show for fall.

4 days until the final season is released on DVD.

Re: Jericho Season 2 thread

Wow, I really admire the perseverence.

I doubt very much that CBS will do anything about this again but do you guys think the show has a real chance of being picked up by someone else?

Re: Jericho Season 2 thread

Strong review of the Season 2 DVD set up over at IGN, but what really caught my eye was this tantalizing tidbit:

Quote:
I ran into Kenneth Mitchell (Jericho's "Eric Green") yesterday, and after talking to him for a minute and telling him what a great show he had, I asked if there was any hope of another network picking them up. He told me maybe, but then hinted at a feature film for the true finale to the story. He was as nice in person as he was on the show, and really enjoyed the family he made on Jericho.
It's pretty much understood that there's going to be some type of final closure on the Jericho story coming down the road, whether on screen, or offscreen in some other fashion (graphic novels, etc.), but the prospect of a feature film is exciting.

If nothing else, they'll have the money this time to totally sell the goods, and take us to all the places that we never got to see in the TV series (i.e., New York), as well as staging some truly epic battles that wouldn't be possible on a television budget.

If Joss Whedon's shows and Arrested Development can get a second chance on the big screen, so can Jericho. And even if this doesn't pan out, CBS might almost certainly be open to some TV movies or a mini-series to end the story once and for all.

I wouldn't count "Jericho" out just yet.

Thanks, Josh. It's looking more and more promising for one more final wrap-up and a feature film I would love to see.

This past week I saw in Previews that the creators are continuing the series in comic book form.
