Bring 'Em Back Alive comments?

Dear Video-philes:

While Tales of the Gold Monkey, a sort-of Raiders of the Lost Ark like series, is pretty high on the list of shows to come out on DVD. There was another show, set in the same sort of genre, called Bring Em Back Alive.

The program starred the future Scarecrow (of Scarecrow and Mrs. King) and the future Captain John Sheridan, Bruce Boxleitner as Frank Buck, the 1930s adventurer who supposedly went after the big animals.

Anyway, do any of you out there remember the series? And how would you say it compares to Tale of the Gold Monkey?

(Sigh) Cindy Morgan is so beautiful.

Re: Bring 'Em Back Alive comments?

I watched this show, back in the day. I think it only ran a half season. I dont remember ANY good episodes, it wasnt bad, but it was boring. I know that when it was on, i liked Tales of the Gold Monkey more. I was about 15 or 16 when these shows aired, and i only saw episodes, from both shows once. If i didnt like Bring 'em Back Alive then, bet i still wouldnt now. But thats just me.

I wouldn't say it's boring, it's remembered quite well so I wonder why it was cancelled. I'd certainly buy it.

I remember it. But then my mind collects shows that didnt run long. I would say it has a reputation only because of Raiders. Many adults now, that were not even born when it ran, would like to see a TV Raiders. Cant say i have vivid memories of it, not like the ones i have for Logan's Run, Fantastic Journey, or even Tales of the Gold Monkey. I remember the theme music more than anything else. I remember when it was cancelled, i didnt really care, unlike the other shows i mentioned. I couldnt even tell you a plot for an episode. You could say it just wasnt my thing, but it SHOULD have been! Course, after 25 years it may look like gold compared to some shows today, or maybe not.

Re: Bring 'Em Back Alive comments?

Harvey Jason's funny character Bhundi is probably better remembered, than Boxleitner's.

Re: Bring 'Em Back Alive comments?

I never watched the show but I have them all on tape from a friend's collection. I'll eventually transfer them over when I get to them with no great fear that they'll ever come on DVD.
