I was wondering if any readers in the forum know if this will ever get a R1 or R2 release from WB. I know it is available in Korea but the print is very soft and fuzzy and a real disappointment. Any comments or observations welcome

Re: operation Daybreak 1975

Following on from my previous forum query I gather Operation Daybreak got a release in Australia, but once again any light that can be shed on this or any other verification would be welcome

well I just got my copy...

Image somewhat grainy but an improvement over the Korean Release a few years back... Sound is excellent. I assume this was shot by Lewis Gilbert on 35mm film.

Actually I just finished watching the Archive release.  Thoroughly enjoyable film with good performances.  I found the transfer good and the film looks like a 1975 spy flick grain and all.  I have no problems recommending the Archive release.  Next up Chubasco.

but no German subtitles??!! is there a setting one can invoke to turn on these subtitles?

Why would you need German subtitles? The unsubtitled bits that are in German are easy to follow given the context.

True, but the original US theatrical prints had the subtitles.  (The US theatrical release was also about 15 minutes shorter than the European cut featured here.)

Gotcha. I'd assume you'd need to get that version on DVD then, which would appear unlikely.
