Yes, sir. Factoring in the movie cash it's like they're paying you to take the 2 movies. Still a little skeptical until the credit actually hits my CC.

What a great deal, Paul! And I ordered my copy of The Robe from amazon recently because I couldn't find it anywhere in a B&M. I picked up TPotC from a local retailer weeks ago. I wish I had waited...

It almost smacks of an "After Holy Week Sale" like an "After Christmas Sale."

I was actually expecting these to go on sale Easter week, but they never did. The wait was worth it because it is hard to beat $12.25 BDs!

Especially of that quality...

Congrats!

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

For anyone interested in Pride & Prejudice and happen to be around downtown Manhattan, the regular street vendor on Fulton St just off Broadway (near J&R) had at least a couple of them for just $15. I grabbed one for myself (along w/ their last copy of Slumdog Millionaire for $20) around lunchtime, but it's probably not the kind of title that goes fast for them (and is probably why they priced it that low already). Maybe they'll still have one or two of them on Monday, if you can't drop by today.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Incredible Hulk dropped to $15.99 on Amazon. Also appears Best Buy has it at their online store for the same price. This is the cheapest I've seen for this release.

Hope it's not old news, but I just noticed that Amazon has 'The Proposition', with Guy Pearce, for $9.99. That's a library builder price.

Here's a link for quick access.

Not sure if that's old news (for Amazon anyway), but that title (along w/ a handful others) has basically been clearance priced at $7.99 at J&R for a few weeks now -- and there were probably a couple other online places doing similarly besides Amazon.

Expand Your Blu-ray Collections Starting At $7.99 at JR.com

If you want more than just that one title there, might be worth the shipping charge. They still have Paris, Je T'aime at $8.99 and originally also had Priceless (a fine little romantic comedy w/ Audrey Tautou) in that sale, but was removed after it initially sold out even though they did restock it -- and I actually picked it up at the sale price in-store after that. Hmmm... Actually, seems you can still get Priceless for the $8.99 sale price although it's no longer listed on that promo sale page.

Priceless (2008) - DVD in Movies: Foreign Films at JR.com

Amazon has the upcoming BRD release of "Big" for $17.99, I don't know how long that price will last.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Another Amazon discount (good through May 16).

$20 a disc may not seem like a great deal, but many of these titles have been rarely discounted, FWIW. Also, a number of them qualify for $10 in movie cash for Angels and Demons (sent via email from Amazon).

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

The Star Trek Original Motion Picture Collection is down to $69.99 on Amazon.com - that's just $11.66 a movie!

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Just in time for RAH's enthusiastic report, Amazon dropped the pre-order price for 'Dr. Strangelove' to $22.49 (42% discount).

Sold!

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Not sure if this is going to be a normal price for this title, but amazon.com's pre-order price on the BD of The Graduate is $15.99.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

And figure this one out. Amazon.com's pre-order price for the classic () film Baby on Board is $22.49 for the DVD and $13.99 for the BD.

===============

Meanwhile, Amazon's prices for this year's little-known thriller Elsewhere are $22.49 for the DVD and $16.49 for the BD.

That's pricing I can get behind!

FYI Costco Shoppers there are a number of $12.99 and $13.99 choices in my local stacks, including I Robot.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

And I've got one (two) more.

Amazon's got a pre-order price of $15.99 on the BD of the 2004 version of Walking Tall as well as on the Patrick Sawyze epic Road House.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

And for those still waiting to pick up A Bug's Life, fthere's an unadvertised sale on it at Toys R Us; from the thread I posted in the Bargains forum:
Quote:
I read about this deal on another forum the other day. Picked up a copy at my local store this morning. It's an unadvertised special so it's marked $29.99, but it rang up $19.99 without a problem. According to what I read, it's on sale until around June 21 (but I don't know how accurate that is). Just a head's up that my store didn't have it with the other DVDs/Blu-rays, it was in what looked like the electronics section (the employees called it the "R Zone").

That may just set the record for the best movie for the least money (from a retail merchant). I was happy when I got it for under $15.

At my TRU, it's "a bug's wha?"

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

I did the A Bug's Life deal at TRU. The movie cash for Up! makes it a no brainer.

Couldn't find a copy in the movie section...not even on the BD endcap.

Went into the electronics section...where all I could find were videogames. Asked the lone employee if there were any BDs other than in the movie section. "Sure, she said. what are you looking for?"

"Disney/Pixar's A Bug's Life."

"Oh. She drooped. I don't think we have that. She looked in what she described as the only other selection of movies on disc (all Disney) and found nothing and said, 'Sorry."

As I was walking out of the store, I saw THREE OTHER endcaps with Blu-rays and found a copy!

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

I found my copy of A Bug's Life in the electronic games section of the local TRU. There were other Blu-Ray discs in that section, but none in the movie section. It took me some time to find it, since I'd never been in the store before.
