Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Looks like the DD 20% off sale will be June 6 thru June 22.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

The DD 20% off sale has begun. I have confirmed that the codes DVDTALK and USATODAY are working -- I haven't tried any others.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

And the $22.83 price for Cloverfield BD at DeepDiscount brings it down to $18.26, beating Amazon's price by almost $2 (more than that for those of us in NY now paying tax at AMZ).

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Just hit DDD for the following Blu-Rays:

Patton
Signs
Sand Pebbles
Bee Movie

$87.54 total.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

J&R just put up another weekend sale on BDs. Quite a few $11 titles, especially good for those who missed all the old BOGO sales.

Blu Ray promotion - 10.99 at JR.com

For just $11, I think I might bite on a couple at the local store this afternoon.

And oh! Spiderman Trilogy for $35(!) -- guess I'll bite on that one and maybe hock off my PS3 1-disc version of Spidey 3.

Enjoy!

Yeah, that's the real trick, isn't it? I'm patiently waiting for some new titles to go on sale. Until then, warnerbrosonline.com is bleeding me dry!

I was gonna put that J&R in the first post but the UI was acting horribly wrong for me.
Edit: Put it in the first post, I guess the UI is fixed. It's a little wonky tho having to choose the prices then multiple pages. GREAT deals tho, especially for Immortal Beloved and CE3K
Sam
PS: How much do you want for spidey #3? Think I still need that one.

Yeah, I'm not crazy about their new site changes either -- makes it very hard to find Blu-rays based on price.

I was at the store just now. Broke down and picked up CE3K for $20 -- never actually seen it before beyond just a few minutes (mostly at the end) that I tend to catch on TV. Also, decided to give The Company a spin for $25 -- I didn't realize what it was about (and that it's a 2-disc miniseries, which was why the price is on high side).

Anyway, are you actually serious about the 1-disc Spidey 3? I have no idea how much I want for it at the moment, LOL. Might make more sense to just post a forsale w/ a handful other titles I'm thinking of selling (or maybe just add it to our stoop/yard sale mainly of DVDs later this month or so). Who knows? Maybe I'll even end up hocking off (gasp!) CE3K, if I find I don't actually (gasp!) like it -- I know... Philistine that I am...

BTW, for anyone wondering/needing to know, *all* the Spidey Trilogy box sets I found at the store contain each title in its own separate case, not in one big case for all 4 discs. Can't be sure if the shipped version will be the same of course (for those who buy online).

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

I was working on a preorder on Warners site. I tried a code for June. I think it was JUBM8 or something. Anyway, it said i cannot use this code for these items, or some such thing. Anyone know what code will work for June, for preorders? Its worked for me before...unless i used a wrong code?

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Hey, thanks Tony. It worked. I had to spring for The Lost Boys, and Beetlejuice. I threw in an upcoming Dr. Who to bring the whole thing to $51, and free shipping!

Thanks again!

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Oh man, how am I going to explain 25 new HD DVD boxes on the shelf? Happy Fathers Day to me I guess!

I never would have thought I would have purchased these, plus the 1st season of Srar Trek for $50 and a $7 0 second player for the living room. All this months after the format was pronounced dead!

Call me crazy I guess.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Looks like Amazon is selling some of the titles that are $15.00 at Wal Mart right now for cheap, and selling I Am Legend for just $13.95 and the 5-Disc Blade Runner for just $14.95

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

While I am aware that this is really the antithesis of a 'bargain', I just wanted to call everyone's attention to the fact that Warner Bros. Online has raised the prices of all their formally $19.95 BDs to $22.95, which severely cuts into the savings that could've been received by shopping there.

Fortunately, I already had all the pre-orders I had planned to place placed with them before the price hike, and they have not retroactively increased the price of my outstanding orders.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Well all good things come to an end I guess. I have several titles on pre-order and I'll be pissed if they don't honor the price.

I was also waiting for some new title announcements before I ordered LA Confidential (so I could get the free shipping), looks like I'm too late.

Wow, back to Amazon then for the Warner pre-orders. I should have known $14.95 for Blu-ray discs was to good to last.

I gave WB a call and was told all pre-order pricing is guaranteed at the time of purchase. So if you order a Blu-Ray at $19.95 minus the 30% to 13.97, you get the $13.97 price regardless of any price increase afterwards.

But I'll wait and see what happens anyway as I have Batman Begins & Dark City on pre-order.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

I thought I would make up for my wet-blanket, anti-bargain post from yesterday with an honest to goodness deal:

Universal's Action Starter Pack Blu-ray Disc collection features End of Days, Miami Vice: Unrated Director's Edition, and U-571 for $13.98 a movie.

Amazon.com: Action Starter Pack (3pc) (Ws Ac3 Dol Dts Btb) [Blu-ray]: Movies & TV
