the $27 blu's come about $20 after the code.

I also had a weird experience where I ordered The Song Remains The Same in October, it shipped months later (it was recalled as soon as it first hit distributors due to a rights issue with a minor extra feature that had to be dropped), and they finally charged me for it about two months after I received it.
i think they fixed the problems from last year.

people have been using whv for awhile now and i just orderd and got free shipping over $50.
2 of the dvds dont come out for months but they shipped and delivered twister already.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

For those that still receive the 10% discount on HD titles from Amazon, I noticed while placing an order today that my discount had been cut back to 5% instead of 10%. Anyone else seeing the same thing?

My ID BR order showed a $2.60 discount against a sale price of $25.95, so no, still 10%, but that was May 5th.

I will let you know next time I order.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Not a major deal, but still--HMV (in Quebec anyway) has priced a lot of HD DVDs (of those they have left) at 2 for 30 (or 16.99$ each). Many of them were previously (a few weeks ago) priced at 2 for 50. I picked up Willy Wonka and the remake with Johnny Depp, as well as Rio Bravo and The Wild Bunch. Was going to get the Ultimate Matrix set for 50$ but my daughter distracted me and a fellow HD DVD scavenger beat me to it. Ah well, all's fair...

Again, not a huge deal, but a number of decent choices for not too much (I already had a lot of what they had to offer). However, some are still at full MSRP (or close)--including Bonnie and Clyde (at 36$, I'll wait a while or pick it up in "blu" later when I get a "blu" player).

This was at a small store in a suburban mall. The mega store in downtown Montreal probably has a lot more choices/copies (it's where I picked up The Matador for 6.99 about a month ago--I got Eastern Promises a week later at the downtown store for 7.99).

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Those HMV/Best Buy/Future Shop deals in Canada are largely distributor and release date dependent. The $6.99/$7.99 deals are all Alliance Atlantis releases in Canada (TWC/Focus Features/New Line). in the $12.99-19.99 range are the Warner/Paramount/Uni titles, with some new release exceptions. The higher end are typically combo titles.

Yup..same here.

My National Treasure I&II order is 5% off. Still not complaining, though.

With free shipping, that makes the total about $19 per title, will most likely be better than any of my local B&M's.

2/$30 Blu-rays at Amazon

This will likely end Saturday, as they're matching Best Buy's sale on this. I picked up Gattaca and the Rock.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Wow, that 2 for $30 deal is sweet. I just picked up Troy and 300.

I can't believe that the 5 disc Blade Runner set is included in the list of movies available at this price. $15 for this set is almost too good to be true.

I am glad to see that there are still deals to be had in Blu-Ray. Even without the competition.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

A couple of titles in that 2/$30 deal at amazon are $11.95 apiece (Terminator 2 and Total Recall)!!!

I wonder if you could really buy two titles and spend $8 too much?!?

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Warner has a new code now with 30% off with 2 or more discs -- ANWBTS.

It works for preorders, but I don't know how long it's good for:

Batman Begins BR Limited Edition Gift Set -- Reg Warner 39.99, Amazon 33.95, Warner 30% Price 27.97

V for Vendetta - Reg 19.99 for $13.93 (of course same price for any of the 19.99 BR).

Truth in Lending statement: Free Shipping on orders for $50

Sales Tax added for: AR, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, MA, ME, MI, MN, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, TN, TX and WA

Warner's site recently went beta with a redesign and has become a disaster as far as their DVD Shop is concerned. For example, you can no longer search by format alone. Not to mention that titles that were once there aren't any longer.

Anyway, I sent WB a e-mail about their site's search problems, so I hope they'll rectify it soon.

Hmmm... Well, I had put that one in my shopping cart a while back, and was able to checkout w/ it (and received order confirmation) just today even though you can't actually find it on the site anymore. Will have to see whether they honor my order as is.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

warners site now is a mess.
only way to find anything is a direct title search.
also the new announced BR's havent been added to the site yet.

I ordered shawshank a few weeks ago and still have it on order,
no cancellation yet from warner.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Amazon has 11 Blu-ray bundles, each containing 3 FOX/MGM titles. They range in price from $55-65.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

It does not look good for Shawshank Redemption. I saw it a few days ago on dvd empire but now its not there in the Blu-ray page anymore. Looking like it got cancled, wonder why they canceled or postponed the release.

Another Amazon Blu-ray sale. Many of the titles have been there before, but worth a look.

The link does not appear to be working.

I'm not sure why. It was copied directly from Amazon. I still have the window open with the sale listings, but maybe they've taken the page down in the interim.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Amazon is also saying that June 2-9 will be HD week in their Goldbox specials. (That announcement comes up randomly sometimes when you visit the BluRay page).

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Odd, the link worked for me this morning. Didn't see a lot of interest honestly.

It's not letting me do the links for some reason automatically, so let's do it the hard way. Click through on the "Huge Blu Ray" hyperlink under the first section of Summer Blowout

Amazon.com: Blu-ray Store: Movies & TV

What a pain. It randomly switches between 2 screens, one with the Sale and one advertising the Rambo stuff so you may have to hit the link a few times to get the
proper page.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Amazon now has several of the early HD DVD titles for $11.95, e.g. Top Gun, The Italian Job, MI, Aeon Flux, Sahara, Sleepy Hollow and many more.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

That's odd how you cannot "hot link" the link to the Amazon Summer BD BlowOut.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

You can: when I click on David Norman's link, I see the BD bargain page.
Just some don't seem to work. Could there be some spurious info in the URL in those cases, e.g. a session id?

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Cees, that was a workaround.

When I linked directly to the sale page itself, I got a "This page can't be found" result like Michael's initial link. I tried it on 3 separate web addresses (depends on where how you get to the page as to the exact web address) and eventually had to settle on the Front Lawn address instead of the Living Room.
