Perhaps this is going a bit too OT now..

I have used DVDpacific before and after this "breach". No issues.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Wow.. either I'm too stupid to figure it out, or DVDPacific's website just really sucks bad, but I can't get it to just list all the damn HD DVD's by price. It wants to give me a list of 10 or so best sellers, or new releases.. but I just want to see all the damn discs by price.

Yes, their web site is far from perfect. But prices are usually quite decent.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

How's their shipping? Are they still cheaper than DDD?

And thanks for the list! Definitely a few items there I'd like to pick up.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Jeremy, just enter HD in the search field (and hit ENTER immediately - otherwise suggested listings default), and everything comes up (in lists of 20).

Band Of Brothers HD DVD (Japan) in HMV:
ƒLƒƒƒ“ƒy[ƒ“î•ñ/ŽŸ¢‘ãDVD2“_”ƒ‚¤‚Æ20“ƒIƒtI/HMV

"2 Next Generation DVDs at 25% off".

Not sure how much this is eventually going to cost, but probably quite decent offer if you order them all (5 volumes, I believe).

I almost ordered these at some point, but now that HD DVD is pretty much dead, I think I rather wait for the proper US Blu-ray release (eventually, it´ll arrive).

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Blu-ray.com reports another Amazon BD 'sale' - up 50% off on 134 titles (toggle between catagories).

Amazon.com: Blu-ray up to 53% off

Not all are at the magic number, but there are a few notables that I haven't picked up yet myself...

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Discovery.com is having a big HD-DVD sale.

Includes: Planet Earth set for $29.99 and a number of Sunrise Earth discs and Discovery: Atlas programs.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Mike,

That's a steal! I was about to buy Planet Earth for $45 tomorrow, so this was a great deal. Thanks for the heads up!

But, just to be clear, Jacinto...Patrick Sun wisely pointed out in a different thread that the versions of Planet Earth sold at the Discovery Store are the "US version". Same program...but with narration by Sigourney Weaver instead of David Attenborough.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

This is not as good as the 50% - 53% off at amazon but if you can not find a HD-DVD title there. You might find it here and they might be offering a bigger discount soon?

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Tower.com has some great prices on HD DVDs, though I have heard less than flattering things about their customer service.

Tower.com

I went ahead and ordered Clerks 2, The Game, and Jarhead, as Amazon is out-of-stock on those currently.

***Amazon.ca*** HD-DVD sale!

For once, Amazon Canada is reducing prices on High-Def discs. If you're at all interested, they have over 100 HD-DVD titles on sale on the good or better side of 50% off...

I managed to get in on U2 - Rattle and Hum before it went out-of-stock. $7 for a BD is a crazy good deal, and I had been considering spending $20 on it a little over a month ago.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Amazon has I AM LEGEND on Blu-ray for $18.95 right now. It's ranked #1 in sales for all DVD releases on their site at the moment.

47% off list, OK, i had to jump. This will be a blind buy. But i added it to an order for April, free shipping you know. If it sucks after i get it in from NetFlix (assuming i can get it in the next 2 weeks) i can cancel the Amazon order. Thats right, always thing, always gotta plan!

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

One of my local F.Y.E. stores (owned and operated by TransWorld Entertainment: FYE, Coconuts, Strawberries, etc.) has now relegated ALL its HD-DVDs to one end of its SD-DVD used section. All HD-DVDs are marked used and discounted (much like what Hollywood Video has done, except these are still sealed--unless they ARE actually used).

Prices aren't the greatest, however. Most fall within a range of $15 to $25.

The former HD-DVD wall space has now been co-opted by BDs.
