DVD Cases (Used for some Star Trek sets)

[I apologize for starting a thread on a topic that may belong elsewhere, but I have no idea in which thread or Forum it ought to go.]

I am trying to find out if there is a distributor that sells the plastic DVD cases that come with several of the Star Trek series. For example, these are included in the U.K. versions of DS9 and VOY as well as in the North American versions of TOS (boxed sets) and TAS (box set). (Some of these hold six discs, while others hold seven or more. I need the seven-fold cases.) I have had no success trying to find these on the Web thus far, and wondered if anyone else has ever seen these for sale anywhere. I need them for replacements, and will most likely need more in the future for other purposes. Any help would be appreciated!

Here is a pic of what I am trying to find. It's probably not too helpful. If anyone owns any of the sets mentioned above, they will know what I am talking about. The case is at the far right, behind the picture.

I have to say that I know what you're talking about. Paramount was the only studio using those cases and they're far inferior as far as cases go.

If you can't find those particular cases you may try some custom dvd cover art sites. You can get some really impressive cover art and order the cases to put the dvds and inserts in online from various dealers. Sometimes doing this takes up less space on your shelf as well. My best guess is, if you must have those cases and nothing else, try to find a patent or serial # number on the clear plastic flipbook itself. Searching that may yield some results and you can always try contacting Paramounts distribution division, assuming you can get through to them. I might be making that last one sound easier than it is. Another idea is you could use the individual clam shell cases if they can all fit. Also, the flexible single cd flipbooks they sell at Wal-Mart. The ones that are like plastic sheathes with the cloth backing. They should work. Good Luck, man.

What Troy says. I put my Trek in 7 disc cases, and used custom art. Looks good, saves space, and easy to use! What could be better?

Thank you all for your advice. I will try the serial no. angle first. That may do the trick. I actually thought it would be easy to find these cases on those sites that say they have just about everything in the way of DVD cases, but thus far I haven't seen them.

Thanks again!

Scott-

I was asking about this too last year. Here's a link to the thread with a few more useful input from members: http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...-buy-them.html

If you sre looking for the clear trays that are stuck together with tape along one side that acts as a hinge, that's what I was asking about too.
