Onkyo TX-SR705 No Audio

I connected the AV and am experiencing an audio anomaly, no sound.

Condition. When the Onkyo and input source (dishnet or DVD) is turned on, the Onkyo displays a flashing HDMI and then it stops. No input source is displayed (no audio is output). When I press Standby followed by On a second time, the Onkyo displays the input source and the audio output is activated.

It seems that people have been having problems with the 705 in particular. I think there was another tread about a guy that had a baseline subwoofer hum only with that receiver which was fixed when he upgraded to the 805. Weird.
