Has anyone else had a hard time playing the Natural Born Killers Director's Cut DVD?

I can't get it to play right on my Samsung(a P241). It'll usually go past all the FBI warnings and all that, and then go black. It's the only one in my DVD collection that has given me any problems. I have tried 2 different discs of the movie, so I'm thinking it's a compatibility issue for some reason.

Edit: I had forgotten about The Rain Man DVD I was referring to in the other thread, and it happened with a different player I had that I gave to my dad.

No, I've never had problems, and I've played my disc on multiple players. Sorry I can't help out. If only this would get a Criterion rerelease! Terrific, overlooked film.

Nathan

I watched mine a few months ago with no problems.

I checked out mine and it played fine.

I don't think my player likes this particular disc(since I tried 2 different ones). I tried it on my PS2 and it worked, and my sister borrowed it and said she had no problems with it either.

Mine plays fine on both my set top player and my PC.

And yes, I second a Criterion release. NBK is a massively underrated movie. Admittedly some parts are like a film school experiment, but it's one of the most innovative movies of the last 20 years IMO.

Maybe Warner will finally bother to do a two-disc with both cuts of the film for its 15th anniversary next year.

I think there was an authoring glitch on this, when I worked at Tower we had a couple returns. Another problem title from Trimark is The Stoned Age, not all of my machines can play that properly.

It definitely does need an upgrade to an SE. I only hoped I could play it on my player due to it making non-anamorphic DVDs look like they aren't stretched on widescreen TVs.
