Another huge TG fan here.

Interestingly, going back to the early days of TG, it used to be a 30 minute, serious review show. Clarkson did it with others (not May and Hammond - heck, Hammond would have been in short trousers) and it focused on detailed reviews of new vehicles. The new direction it went in was a genius move though.

Clarkson writes for the newspapers in the UK and it's hilarious reading.

Top Gear is my favorite show anywhere. Clarkson/Hammond/May have a chemistry that is unmatched on any show. I've seen every episode, and am always ready for more.

I have high hopes that the USA version of Top Gear won't suck. After reading Adam Corolla's interview on Motortrend, I'm even more hopeful. Basically, he talked how American cars have a long way to go before they'll be any good, and how our interiors are terrible. Reading the comments was interesting, considering he ticked off a lot of people!

I'll give it a whirl.

Time will tell how popular the US version of the show is...Carolla's certainly going to stir the pot if he voices his thoughts on American car makers...esp the Muscle Cars

People love to say Clarkson is anti american so it'll be interesting when Carolla gets on stage and says the same thing about North American cars being less then they ought to be.

Same here. While I'll definitely tune into the U.S. version I'm still not expecting it to be anywhere near the U.K. show. Those guys are just so perfect that I don't see how their chemistry can be matched by Carolla and crew. Then again, I didn't think the U.S. version of The Office would work and it has become my favorite sitcom since Seinfeld went off the air so I guess anything is possible.

Yes it started last Sunday. TG: Australia isn't too bad either though its new so they're still figuring it all out.
