SVS/Axiom

I have been doing a little research last night, and have narrowed my buying down to either the SVS SB-01 5.1 system or an axiom 5.1 system using the vp150 center, the m3 fronts, the qs4 surrounds, and their smaller subwoofer. Both would cost about the same by the time they get to my house, and I would be running them with a HK avr 635 in a 15x15 room with 9 foot ceilings. Any pros or cons to either system and would one be significantly better than the other? I mainly will be using it to watch movies with very little music listening.

Either should do fine in a room that size and sound great. The Axioms being a bit brighter than the SVSs, IMO. In terms of "smaller" subs, the SVS is likely to be the better of the two (PB-10) and the package is almost worth it for the sub alone. Neither is significantly better than the other, but they won't quite sound similar to each other either. A plus in the Axiom's favor might be choice of finish, if that is a factor.

Thanks for the reply, looks like I am probably going to go with the axiom's due to shipping cost of the SVS. Any recommendations on whether I should go with the QS4's for the rear surround or one of their bookshelf speakers?

What I like about the SVS system is the fact of having identical speakers all the way around. This will give you a seamless HT experience. When I auditioned this system I was amazed at the impact of this system.

I personally prefer a monopole surround, but I listen to a lot of multichannel music. If your room supports bi/dipole surrounds (meaning rear wall in close enough proximity, side walls on both sides), then they could work for you as well - my current room isn't quite right for them due to an opening on the right rear.
