Amazon.com: HD-DVD Deals

Up to 53% off.

I think I'll add SII (Donner cut) and The Fugitive to my BR collection...

These sales at amazon intrigue me.

It seems like they start off with a certain number of titles and then start taking certain titles off the list. Maybe they allow a certain number to sell at the sale price and then remove it? There were more than 27 BD titles on this sale when it started.

I'm kinda angry at myself for not pulling the trigger sooner when The Searchers BD was listed on the most recent one of these sales.

And if they lowered the price on Hairspray a little more...my wife has been asking to see it... It is, of course, the only title on the page NOT in the 45 to 54% off range.

Well...I don't see it on either amazon.com sales page...but I just did a title check and The Searchers BD is BACK on sale...and even less expensive than the other day....$14.95!

Since I bought most of my high-def disks from Amazon with their 10% extra off deal - thus netting out at about 37% off - I guess I should not be too depressed over not getting the extra 13% off. However, the persistence of these big sales now sure makes me think twice about buying any titles for more. Since I don't want to buy standard definition disks, I have actually ended up buying fewer disks of any kind than I bought before the big software dumping.

THAT sentiment...plus the higher prices of the BDs have got me being much more selective about my purchases, too. I had become more selective in recent months anyway...but now even more so.

These are beginning to seem like regular prices on these titles.

Wish they would stop milking us dry for the newer releases and pre-orders. It's a far cry from the old days, when you could get a decent discount for pre-ordering. Now, I just want to wait 4 or 5 months after the release date before buying anything. That scenario started back with SD.

I´m glad that I got around zillion-titles from these earlier Bogo-sales (buy 2 - get 1 for free). These recent sales are not that great after all..

That's definitely true for some titles that used to appear on the sale lists but now just have regular listings with the "sale" prices as regular prices: e.g., Memento, A Few Good Men, The Patriot -- all at $15.95. (They may have been $1 less on sale; I can't remember for sure.)
