I wouldn't call it "SE7EN" but it pretty gripping and it has a sense of "grit" and "dread" about it that reminds me of Fincher's classic (and it rains lots).
A worthwhile film and the good reviews so far are very encouraging for it.

Anyone going to see this? Good movie. Very "SE7EN"esque.

Re: Pretty intense new trailer for UNTRACEABLE

I'm going to see it this weekend, but rotten tomatoes has not been kind to it.

Re: Pretty intense new trailer for UNTRACEABLE

I have to say that I haven't seen the movie but ALOT of the trailer looks like exactly like an episode of Millennium called The Mikado. Once again, I haven't seen the movie but I'm curious to hear from anyone that has seen the movie and the episode to see if it's as similar as it appears.

I don't think this sort of film generally gets GREAT reviews. Even so, several "respected" reviewers seem to like it quite a bit. Also, none of the reviews are REALLY negative. They are just average. I think the film is WAY above average for THIS type of film. Very "SE7EN"!

I'm familiar with the "The Mikado" episode you are referring to. It has simularities but also differs alot. "Untraceable" is very grim and bleak and is more like "SE7EN" or "SILENCE OF THE LAMBS" than a TV show.

There is some "horrific" stuff in this film that is quite memorable and thought-provoking too. Diane Lane was superb too.

Re: *** Official UNTRACEABLE Discussion Thread

The wife and I saw this last night and neither of us were impressed. I think the filmmakers wanted to make a new Silence Of The Lambs (which this film is clearly inspired by visually. But now with a blue filter to be original) but mix-it-up with the torture/porn deathtraps of Saw.

The wife and I were also nonplussed with the baddie: a kid turned evil genius (his computer skills easily exceed those of the FBI's combined agents) because his dad's suicide was reported on TV? I'm sorry, thats just stupid.

In the end I gave it a 3 outa 5. Its a mediocre hollywood thriller that nobody will remember in 4 years.

Re: *** Official UNTRACEABLE Discussion Thread

I think people will remember that "HEAT LAMPS" scene. That was VERY disturbing and intense. Can't imagine ANY torture worse than that.
