Using Subwoofer As Speaker Stand

Thread Starter
Hey I was wondering if using a subwoofer as a speaker stand (for a bookshelf speaker) would work as well as using a "real" speaker stand. I am planning to put the Monitor Audio Bronze B2 on a 24" tall AV123 MFW-15 subwoofer (using blu-tack to secure it); this seems around teh right height for my seating position. Anyone have any experience, opinions, advice? Thanks.

My center channel sits on a DIY 12" sub without problems.

I wouldn't do it. Feeding all that vibration into a regular speaker housing will create all sorts of resonance problems. The tac would possibly actually make it worse.

Re: Using Subwoofer As Speaker Stand

A properly build sub enclosure transmits no additional vibration other than sound waves.
