Flattest most non-reflective paint for front projection home theatre room?

Ok. I have a small basement I want to use as my home theatre room and my display is a front projector. The room is 11 feet 8" wide by 7 feet 4" high and about 17 feet long. I have a very small (tiny) window in the corner which I will block off light from completely. I have one door into the room that needs to have the bottom blocked off to stop light. Carpet will also be replaced with a black carpet. Any suggestions for carpets?

I prefer to use black. I could use a dark burgundy or dark red but would rather go the distance and use black. The room is the only one in the basement and only has laundry on one end and is not used for anything else.

What can you suggest for the flattest most non-reflective paint possible?
Would be nice to have something that isn't too bad chemical and environment wise too.

I would recomend eather black or burgandy but dont use flat paint it shows finger prints and is hard to wet wipe should you get a spill. Use a satin it is pretty nonreflective plus it hold up ALOT better than flat.

We went with flat paint in most of our house. We thought "no need for more expensive since we don't have kids". WRONG! Every time you touch the paint you leave a mark. I used a dark, navy blue when I repainted the theater room. It's a little more reflective but the paint us much more resistant to marks.

Ok, some people say to use a satin or eggshell. I guess I have to learn more about paints.

I left out the word "eggshell" in my paint description of the theater. I don't notice any problems with the paint reflecting too much light.

Paint finish comes in (usually) four varieties. Ranked from least to most reflective they are: Flat, Eggshell, Satin, Semi-gloss, Gloss. Flat paint does, as others have said, mark easily. Eggshell is nearly as dull as flat, but has a harder surface that stands up better to use, and is easier to clean.

You can go with black, but I would probably go with a couple shades of dark gray, to avoid having a claustrophobic room.

Consider using some dark curtains in areas where reflections would be the worst, such as both side walls of the screen area, and around the screen. Curtains will kill reflections much better than even the blackest of paint.

That's ok. I sort of merged semi-gloss and gloss into one two-parter

Here is my plan so far:

1. Patch wall and ceiling nicks, scrapes and holes.
2. Sand ceiling, side walls and back wall
3. Paint ceiling very dark gray, very dark burgundy or black, either flat or eggshell
4. Paint side walls very dark burgundy - eggshell
5. Paint back wall very very dark gray or black - eggshell
6. Acoustic sound treatment panels and/or cloth and wall hangings to absorb and diffuse sound (receiver and speakers are a bright combo).
7. Dark burgundy Side Curtains
8. Dark burgundy carpet

Any thoughts?

Any more suggestions for paints?

How about Sherwin Williams? Colour Accents - Ultra Deep base flat for the ceiling etc.

I did some shopping for paints today. Actually thinking I may go with Benjamin Moore Ulti-matte.
