I have Sunfire Power Amps (5X425 & 5X200) that I plan to run through Panamax surge protectors/line conditioner. I was advised that the Sunfire amps may perform line conditioning functions and should not be ran through surge protectors that also perform similar such functions. I could not see anything in the Sunfire manuals that answer this question. Does anyone know whether on not connecting a Sunfire amp to Panamax unit is a problem?

Re: Capatibility Amp with Line Conditioning
NEVER connect an amp (or receiver) to a line conditioner. Their very function is to disrupt uneven power demands, which is what amps do. Surge protectors are fine. Having said that, many Panamax conditioners have designated "high wattage", non-conditioned outlets. You can plug your amp into that. You still get surge protection.Re: Capatibility Amp with Line Conditioning
I have several Panamax 1000s which have two outlets on each unit that are designated as "delayed on" outlets intended for power amps. Do you think this is the same as what you are referring to as "high wattage" outles?

Re: Capatibility Amp with Line Conditioning
If this is the Panamax you have, I don't think it's a line or power conditioner in the terms John was thinking of. Panamax is using "line conditioner" simply to refer to a little noise filtering, which even the $20 Wood's power strips from Lowes provide.I use a Monster 3500, which appears to be a similar product to the 1000 I linked to. I run an Adcom 5 channel and NAD 2 channel off of the switched "high current"outlets with no problem. FWIW, I wasn't expecting any changes in my system, I simply bought it for the switched function since my prepro and amps don't have 12v triggers (found a deal on a refurb for $140). Anyway, I swear the sound quality improved and it also appears that the Monster has a groud loop isolator in the CATV circuit as it removed the video noise I was getting from my CATV feed.
