If this is a big hit, will there be a sequel? One possible way to do it, would be to tell the story from another point of view, perhaps the more traditional omnipresent view point.
It did seem a bit strange to me as well that a video camera could produce such stunning audio.
I am very curious about many things and wouldn't mind seeing more explanation.
there was a collective groan at the end from the audience in attendance at the showing I saw yesterday

Brilliant re-imagining of the monster movie, amazing theatrical experience! I felt so nauseous while driving home I thought I was coming down with something, but I soon realized it was just the movie catching up with me. I think Cloverfield owes much of its power to its mystery and in-the-moment confusion, much like the terror we all felt in the first moments of 9/11 when nobody knew what exactly was going on, or how extensive this attack would be. I loved Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show) the abrupt ending, the poignancy and mystery of the last snippet of Coney Island video
. The mystery of the monster will be conversation fodder for a long time; any explanation, in a sequel or otherwise, would just seem anticlimactic.Same here. Some people were outright hostile and derogatory when the credits started to roll. |
