He was one of the great sitcom character actors.

I loved his character of Sgt. Hacker (Gomer Pyle: U.S.M.C.). He was cast perfectly in that role, IMO.

on the first Love American Style DVD, they have him as a bartender in a meatmarket giving tips to Bob Crane on how to be a swinger.

So much of his great work is coming out on DVD. Would be nice if the complete Bilko sees a light of day in the coming years.
