I got a call from a friend who just bought a new house and needed some help to hook up his new Plasma. The Display is above a fireplace with an equipment rack about 10' away. In the equipment rack there is a network jack for the HDTV (through the phone company), a phone jack, 2 - Coax cables (One to the basement and one to the Display location) and one cat5 cable (There is 4 twisted pairs but no shielding) that goes to the display location. At the display location there is one cat5 to the equipment rack, one cat5 to the basement, one coax to the basement and one coax to the equipment rack. The Display has two HDMI and two Component inputs for hd signal but I would prefer to use HDMI as it would do audio as well. Do I have enough wiring to do this right or not? For the time being he is just going to use the Display speakers so 1 HDMI would do all he needs but can I do it with the available wires or did the builder not run enough. I have been out of this for a couple years and just don't know what he needs anymore.
Any help would be appreciated
