Need help with a movie please...

Thread Starter
Okay, some very quick background. I'm a photographer at a teevee station. End of background.

An anchor and I are putting together a piece on eating disorders. She thought it would be a good idea to start it with a scene from ANY movie of a person, preferably female, cramming a bunch of food down her throat.

All I can think of right now is John Belushi from Animal House but I don't think that'll work for our purpose.

If any HTF'ers have any ideas please throw them my way!

Thanks.

I'm not sure if this fits exactly, but there's the scene from "Cool Hand Luke" where he eats 50 hard boiled eggs.

Re: Need help with a movie please...

Try a movie with a eating contest - I believe Stand By Me had one, but it's been a while since I've seen it.

Meatballs - weinie eating contest.

Re: Need help with a movie please...

Well, sticking with Belushi (only this time in drag) there is a bit on the Best of John Belushi where he is dressed as Liz Taylor and claims to be on a nothing but chicken diet...proceeds to wolf down chicken until he/she starts to choke, performs a self heimlich maneuver, spits out a piece of chicken and then goes right back to wolfing it down...hilarious and obviously playing up the "eating disorder" Liz had...

Oh, yeah, that's from SNL by the way...

Oh and if you want to dig for it there was a film called Fatso that was all about eating disorders that I think may have plenty of scenes you could use...

Fatso (1980)

I'd go for a scene with "The Chubby Checkers" support group...

Re: Need help with a movie please...

There's the scene in Fargo where the female officer is at the buffet and is just piling her plate full of food. There are no face-stuffing scenes, but this is still pretty hilarious.

Two that immediately come to mind: The fat man from "Monty Python's The Meaning of Life" ("Bring me everything on the menu and a bucket!") and there is a scene in Nightmare on Elm Street 5 where Freddy force feeds a girl until she is bursting.

Also, there are a couple scenes in Gone With The Wind where Scarlett is stuffing her face (before the BBQ at the Wilkes's and when she and Rhett are on their honeymoon).

How about Ally Sheedy eating the big Cap'n Crunch sandwich in Breakfast Club?

Re: Need help with a movie please...

If you want a woman, a ravenous Karen Allen plows down some food in Raiders of the Lost Ark. It's the scene with Belloq in his tent. If I remember correctly, she's on her knees when she attacking the food.

I do agree that the John Belushi scene is a riot.

Re: Need help with a movie please...

I think there's a scene in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark where Marion hadn't eaten in a while and jammed down some food.

This is even more fuzzy, but I think Princess Fiona pigs out in Shrek.

And how about Mongo in Blazing Saddles.

Re: Need help with a movie please...

Black Snake Moan there's a scene where Jackson makes Ricci a plate of food and she scarfs it down and he says something like "dang girl if you ate slower you'd be able to TASTE IT"

Beethoven's 2nd features an epic burger battle.

The movie Angus discusses eating disorders and is good for a few lines.

Re: Need help with a movie please...

Peter's Friends.

Rita Rudner (who co-wrote the script) plays a TV actress who's hyper-weight-conscious and is constantly criticizing the English cuisine at the country house where she and her husband are staying. But at one point in the film she goes on a frantic late-night binge and scarfs down everything in the kitchen.
