MSNBC is making a lot of something about nothing. Transferjet is designed to integrate certain periphials.. I don't see anyone saying "WUSB is a big stab at the already existing BlueTooth and proposed newer BlueTooth standards!"..Transferjet is much more a competitor to say, Microsoft or Logitech's own proprietary wireless mouse tech; or a competitor to HP's direct-connect camera/printer wireless system. All of those are unique and stand on their own, work with their own stuff.
Mountains out of mole hills. Sony's system works from a few centimeters, not feet, it's designed for close connection to sync devices.
But, when a Microsoft owned (MSNBC) wants to make a slap, it is funny that the traditional wireless connectivity ranged format (BlueTooth) doesn't even get a mention..
