I am seriously considering popping for the great deal on the Stata Minis but I have a concern that the center channel timbre matching could be an issue.
Do any of you have these minis and use a center channel with good matching results? I have been looking online and find that there is really no "clear" match for these. I have seen some rather astounding reviews though.
My usage is about 70% HT. Another question is that the lowest frequency advertised is nowhere near the 15-20 hz I would gain by going with the SVS deal on their plus 2.
I am waffling shamelessly on the fence at the moment.
My choice is either the SVS sub or the mini's. I can not get both at the moment. BTW I have some rather low end speakers at the moment. JBL voice & stage venue series and they are "ok" but I want an upgrade.
So I will list my questions.
1) Do the Strata Mini's have a center channel that matches timbre, or is there another brand that comes close?(deal now at $1799 shipping incl)
2) Would the dual 8" powered subs be adequate in a relatively small theater room? 10' x 15' with opening on one end(partial) and on one wall(30"x7') with 9' cielings.
3) Will I just be more satisfied at the moment to go with a very good sub, ie the great deal on the SVS plus 2 ($1099 + shipping)and upgrade the other speakers later?
Yes I understand this is almost completely subjective but I also apprieciate the candor and knowledge you guys banter around.
