Donald Fagan MVI Box Set

Anybody got it? any good? I have "Nightfly" on DVD-A and LP record and the other two on regular CD. I don't know about the bonus tracks, I don't think I've ever heard them.

Just picked it up today. I listened to Nightfly and Morph. The 5.1 mix is equal to the dvd-a release (to my ears anyway). I need more time with the set. Interesting new format. I love Fagan, so I don't mind having "doubles" of these discs.

I have all three DVD-A's and I assume these DVD-V's use the same mix and should be very good. I would prefer the DVD-A's in any event.

I understand that, but I would still much prefer the DVD-A's over the DVD-V's. Now, the DVD-A's if you can find them are expensive, at least the first two, so I would likely purchase this set instead.

Follow-up, I purchased and love this set. I love that the main programs are in high resolution DVD-Video PCM stereo and also DTS 5.1 if you like multichannel. My ears can't tell the difference between DTS 5.1 and PCM 5.1 on the DVD-Audio (By way of comparison, I only have "The Nightfly" on DVD-Audio). The subtleties of stereo imaging are moot on a 5.1 mix.

Anyway I love the bonus tracks - it's worth buying the set just for them. The thing I hate is that the credits are not printed in a booklet. You can either read the credits or listen to the music, one or the other. That sucks! Give me a booklet please. Also, the interview segments are not included as MP3 files - wouldn't they be an obvious "podcast" style listen?

Highly recommended box set. The packaging on mine was ripped and all four of the jewel boxes were shattered within the ripped larger outer box.

This is IMO a much better idea than DVD-Audio, but it will have about the same (very limited) appeal unfortunately I predict.
