HD DVD Connection

I posted in the Basic category and no one was responding, so lets try this one.

I have an older Panasonic Plasma HD moniter, with composite, component, pc, and serial ins. No HDMI.

I have the Toshiba HD A3 hddvd player and I can't get the tv to recognize the component ins, but my tv has no problem with ps2, ps3, or xbox ins. Alas, those weren't mine, i moved, and now i need to get this dvd player working. I've tried 4 different component brands and none of them will work. Any thoughts?

Perhaps a stupid question, but is the A3 output set for component out (instead of HDMI out)?

Just a thought...

There is no selection for component/HDMI out. It outputs both simultaneously.
