Samsung LN-T3753H - HDMI port problem?

I just picked up this set yesterday (returned an LG 37LC7D). Set it up last night, and was amazed at the difference in picture. Am connecting through a Comcast HD DVR with a HDMI cable. Woke up this morning to fine a thin yellow line running top to bottom of the very left hand side of the screen. Changed to a different HDMI port and the line disappeared. Connected with Component cables and no line. Switched back to the original HDMI port and the line was back. Am thinking I might have a bad port? What do you guys think?

Thanks!

I would exchange it for a new one. Starting out with a problem, just means it's gonna get worse (usually). You may end up needing to use that input sometime.
Good luck!

Hi Ed! Thanks for the response. I know in my heart you are right. Sigh. I was hoping to avoid that, as I just lugged a 37" LG out of my house, into my car and did the reverse with this set not three days ago. The thought of doing it all over again is depressing. Then again, the thought of paying all that money and having a problem right out of the box is equally as depressing!

Re: Samsung LN-T3753H - HDMI port problem?

Shtyrayum,

I've seen similar "garbage" on the extreme edge of the image when viewing HD through HDMI in Just Scan mode. It is normal - what we're seeing is some of the non-visual data such as closed-caption which is being sent with the signal. Typically, tvs have a bit of overscan which crops off such things but in 'just scan' mode, it is showing things pixel for pixel thus you get everything. I've noticed a yellow line on the extreme left but more often, I've seen b&w garbage at the extreme top. I've gotten used to it since 'just scan' is definitely the best way to view HD content.

Hope this helps.
